Come Back to Yourself

LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy

No matter what brings you to therapy, you deserve a space where you can truly express yourself and not worry about judgement.

  • "Not queer like gay. Queer like escaping definition. Queer like some sort of fluidity and limitless all at once. Queer like a freedom too strange to be conquered." - Brandon Wint

  • "Allow yourself to transform as many times as you need in order to be happy and free." - Yung Pueblo

  • Queer like knowing yourself deeply, leaving no part out.

Being LGBTQ+ can mean facing unique challenges and stressors such as:

  • Coming out

  • Dealing with rejection from family and friends

  • Pressure to conform (heteronormativity, amatonormativity, etc)

  • Body or sex-shaming

  • Discrimination, harassment, and abuse

All alongside overall experiences of depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, stress, etc.

Whether your concerns are related to your identity or not, you need a place to explore how you feel without judgment. You don’t have to sit with anything on your own. I am a bi+ cisgender woman with experience supporting the LGBTQ+ community. I feel honored to do this work with you.

How can therapy really help?

Therapy will provide you with a safe, judgement-free space where you feel affirmed and supported. Whether you are navigating your sexual orientation, gender identity, or uncovering other aspects of your true self, therapy can help:

  • Identify conscious and unconscious beliefs stopping you from coming out so you can understand exactly how you (or internalized judgements from others) are holding yourself back

  • Learn self-compassion, so you can be encouraging to yourself as you step outside your comfort zone

  • Build a mind-heart connection, so you can continue to center yourself and rather than self-abandon

  • Identify, communicate and pursue your wants and needs, so you can be who you really are (not an “acceptable” version of who you are)

You Don’t Have to Figure It Out Alone

This type of therapy isn’t a quick fix. It’s a slow uncovering and strengthening of yourself. Through our therapy sessions, your reflections, and application of insights, you’ll get to readjust your relationship with yourself.
